Out with my man, looking like a girl.

Today is my birthday and I was getting ready for my date with Matt this afternoon.  I changed my clothes and ran downstairs to grab something.  Titus, sitting on the couch, said in a loud, drawn-out voice, "Oh--you  got  new  clothes?"

If only you could have heard the wonder in his voice.  That my 3 year old would notice such a difference in my clothing.  His voice and his staring urged me to ask, "What?  Do you think I look pretty?"

A short silence and then, in his drawn-out way, "You  look  like  a  girl."

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you know you're a mom:  when your toddler notices when you quote-unquote "look like a girl".  And I was just wearing jeans and a pretty shirt.
